“We are approaching the most dangerous point in human history.”

  • Noam Chomsky

“Our world. Our cities. Our social, economic and cultural systems are built for a climate that no longer exists.”

  • New York Times best-selling climate journalist, Jeff Goodell

“Adaptation will require an unprecedented level of cooperation, in the spirit of equity, and with a deep understanding of the interrelated destiny of all members of our human family.”

Reality check

The human race has reached a moment of profound technological achievement.

We have the tools to raise the world to new standards of living.

We’ve made unprecedented discoveries in communication, energy, computing, automation, transportation, and city design.

We have the capacity to invest in individuals with the support of global systems.

This could be a moment of tremendous harmony and evolution for humanity.

But our social development has not kept pace with our material progress.

A business model has become our cultural model, placing people below profit, making enemies of our siblings, causing mass inequality, unnecessary wars and violence, and atmospheric disaster.

The situation is so serious, the Bulletin of Atomic Scientists have their "Doomsday Clock" set to 90 seconds from midnight, representing our proximity to global catastrophe.

The solution

Martin Luther King Jr. identified the unholy trinity of militarism, classism, and racism – the story of violence, greed, and delusions of separateness - a toxic ideology and a story we have to rewrite if we hope to survive.

Dr King was assassinated before he could complete his mission. We must pick up that baton. And swiftly embrace what he called a revolution in human values.

We need a new story. This is a Survivors Guide to Earth, for humanity -  in 6 steps.

Our choice:

Materialism or human values?
